Unprecedented

The weather has been rather unkind to the WMBC faithful since the AGM, taking the pragmatic approach and considering all our members health and safety we have taken the unprecedented decision to cancel sailing over the past stormy weeks. Not an easy decision but in the interests of health and safety there was no other option. We appreciate all our members support in these challenging conditions. This has meant plenty of opportunity for coffee and catch up and of course plenty of model building opportunity (so not all bad).

Number of new vessels have been completed and arrived ready for decent weather to set sail, still plenty going on.

Bit of admin catch up, We recently held our AGM where all things WMBC were discussed. We confirmed our financial position being rosy, and thanked Sarah for her efforts as treasurer, she was then kept very busy collecting membership fees. We had a summary of an amazing 2019 and lots of big plans for 2020, that were all discussed and agreed. Keep an eye open, we have some massive plans on the horizon. Our committee were all re-elected and thanked for their efforts. We also welcomed Roy Amos to our committee team strengthening us even further. Numerous events were discussed and details will soon be added to our diary event page. Lots of new and high profile events on the horizon (watch this space). Finally the huge success at the International Model Boat Show were discussed, and plans for 2020 put forward, unanimously approved and I for one cannot wait to see our 2020 effort, if you thought 2019 was good, you really haven't seen anything yet.

Shaun who does an amazing job dealing with our webadmin and social media passed on details of his all new WMBC website, which is almost ready to go live, (Exciting times). Finally membership fees were discussed and it was decided the membership fees would in reality drop in 2021! (you read right)

We had numerous enquiries regarding joining the WMBC family up to and during the AGM and we welcome all our new members to the WMBC family. Final thank you to all our existing members who have recently renewed your membership, and are all looking forward to another amazing year of success and smiles.

So now we look forward to 2020, and the weather calming down... (fingers crossed)
