Sunny Sunday Sailing

The pond at Cob House on a bright Sunday morning, a fantastic bunch of members and some fantastic boating plus plenty of smiles, what more could you ask for!

Conditions Sunday were in a word 'excellent', plenty of boats hitting the pool.

Andy had taken the plunge and bought himself a new yacht, after some assistance from Tony prior to arrival they had managed to get it semi rigged. (Now I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall watching their efforts).

With a bit of assistance, now at Cob, Brian (our now resident sailing guru) got it fully rigged and despite very little wind, Andy managed to set sail.

We also have a resident needle threading expert (thanks to Louisa), so no excuse for the guys not to get their rigging spot on!

Team Johnson had their model boat fleet out in force, which seems to increase every time I see them. These guys love their boating and always have plenty of fun.

Brian then demonstrated his tug with its now fully functioning water cannon, which I can confirm was very effective!

Alex sailed his budget buy yacht, resident sailing guru Brian, not impressed with the setup of the rigging immediately offered to re-rig the yacht, this camaraderie sums up what WMBC is all about.

Plans are moving forward for the Bournville Illuminated event which is fast approaching.

Sneak preview and gossip, there will be some new arrivals at Cob next week, so watch this space. Talking of new arrivals our member Ed Figueroa based over the pond in the USA has finished the build on his tug 'Brooklyn'. Which features lights and steam generator. Think we can all agree Ed has ever has done a wonderful job and will be on show with his fellow club members! We're very proud to have Ed on board.

Anyhow I will be getting an email out this week about Bournville so keep an eye on your inbox.

One last thing the details of the clubs and traders attending the International model boat show 2018 have been updated on the exhibition organisers website. Worcester Model Boat Club are very proudly showing on the list of clubs attending this prestigious event. Exciting times at WMBC!

Happy Sailing
