Rags, Sticks & Smiles

The camaraderie at WMBC never ceases to amaze, a few weeks back someone mentioned buying a RC yacht, lots of discussion of which to buy, which to not. Now look at us today, and the pond is filled with yachts! Ok we had two motor boats running around the rest under the power of just the wind. This is down in no small part to the enthusiasm of Brian Hill who has really helped most of us (me included) to set sail, and improve.

It's now getting to the stage where some of us are upgrading to bigger and better yachts, relishing the new experience and all trying something new. No attitude of 'I know it all' or 'my boats better than yours', everyone learning and supporting and helping each other. The buzz poolside is noticeable, It's fantastic to see and be part off something so positive.

Brian has recently rescued one yacht and restored another, the first of which was destined for the skip, this is being donated to the club for anyone to have a go at sailing, and should be available very soon.

Otherwise the main buzz of course is all about Warwick International Boat Show, which takes place next weekend, 9th to the 11th November 2018 and WMBC are very proud to have a display at this prestigious event. This will be our first year and the enthusiasm and excitement at taking part is evident.

We will post pictures (lots) of the stand, our boats and the general event. So keep an eye out on Facebook, twitter and the website for updates, as we hope to have regular updates (Shaun).

Thank you to all those who brought along your boats today, they all look truly magnificent, they are in safe hands with the event team, who are poised to deliver them and build the stand Thursday. On that a huge debt of thanks to Andy, Ash, Dave and Alex for taking time out for the club and offering their support so willingly.

We truly have a amazing team of members of WMBC and your commitment to the club makes me so very proud. We go to Warwick as one of the biggest clubs there, we. go there as a success, as a club that's growing not sitting still.

Finally,I can happily also confirm (officially) that Worcester Model Boat Club will be attending the Weston Park International Model show 2019, so another date for the diary.

No time to sit still, still things to sort for Warwick (including my own boat).

Happy showing & Sailing!
